Class Descriptions:

KRIPALU/HATHA YOGA-
This class explores some of the basic postures, breathing and meditation techniques that make up the practice of Hatha Yoga. By taking this class, students will be prepared for most beginner and all level classes. This class is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to deepen their practice. Destress, increase flexibilty, heal, decrease back pain, strengthen abdominal muscles, move energy through the body, improve overall well-being, and move toward bliss!

"Get in Shape" YOGA - VinyasaFlow-
In this class be prepared to sweat! A constant flow of movement linking postures together, raising the heart rate for most of the hour long class.
"The purpose of vinyasa is for internal cleansing" ("Ashtanga Yoga"). Synchronizing breathing and movement in the asanas heats the blood, cleaning and thinning it so that it may circulate more freely. Improved blood circulation relieves joint pain and removes toxins and disease from the internal organs. The sweat generated from the heat of vinyasa then carries the impurities out of the body. Through the use of vinyasa, the body becomes healthy, light and strong.

GENTLE/BEGINNER YOGA-
This relaxing yoga class gentle enough for beginners, seniors, or anyone with special issues such as Fibromyalgia, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Enjoy an hour of breath work, stretching and modified yoga postures, while increasing strength, flexibility, balance, circulation and overall well-being. Most students experience decreased pain, and increased energy.

 
 

PRE-NATAL YOGA

Yoga is an excellent way to maintain a strong and centered mind and body during the joys and challenges of labor and motherhood. Practicing Yoga in pregnancy helps to strengthen and stretch muscles, release tension and maintain good posture. Prenatal yoga also teaches you to relax on command and keep a positive outlook while clearing the mind of the stresses associated with pregnancy and life with your new baby. There are many benefits in attending a prenatal yoga class during pregnancy, benefits that are far beyond what you can receive in a regular yoga class. In our classes we teach yoga exercises that help prepare you for labor, delivery and motherhood as well as breathing techniques you can use in labor. Regular attendance assures that you will consistently practice these exercises for greater benefits.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE – Mothers-to-be experience many physical and emotional changes during the nine-months of gestation. Pregnancy Massage addresses the unique physical needs and stresses of the pregnant woman. Pregnant women also need and deserve to be nurtured and pampered. Our Pregnancy Massage Treatment totally blesses the pregnant woman.

 "Hi Faye! I hope all is well. I have been meaning to email you to let you know that I had the baby and all is well. However, one day turns into the next and before you know it the baby is already a month old!!!
 I had the baby on February 27 at 4:16pm. We named her Ava Kathleen. She was 7lbs 7ounces and 19.75 long. We are both doing great!
 I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the yoga classes during my pregnancy. I really think it helped during labor to teach me to focus and not go crazy with all the contractions. I kept trying to "let go" of the tension during contractions and focus through them...it helped! Reminded me of the end of yoga class when we are having "nap time" and you walk us through each part of our body...I kept hearing your voice and tried to do it!

Hi Faye! On April 20th my husband and I welcomed our second daughter - Reagan Jayne.  She weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and has been an absolute angel!  I just wanted to thank you again for the many relaxing nights during my pregnancy.  I think it helped to keep me calm throughout the labor! PILATES ON THE EQUIPMENT
Get the benefits of working on the pilates machine! Tone and stretch every muscle group, and raise your heart rate--- all in one session. Your trainer will guide you through eight sequences which start with hips and legs, progress to the abs and back, move on to shoulders and arms, and finish with more hips, butt and abs. Add cardio jumping for a more intense workout. Each session is individually designed to meet your personal goals. Regardless of your level of fitness we can design a program just for you!

You will be guided at your own pace through the fundamentals, and the eight progressive workouts that tone your hips and legs, abs, back, shoulders and arms. This class is required for every new student. You will learn the fundementals, breathing techniques, and get comfortable on the pilates equipment so we can assess your level, design your program, and place you in the correct semi-private class to fit your individual needs.

     

Stretch Program

 
   

Improve muscle flexibility and range of motion as well as tone
your whole body. Guarenteed to increase mobility and help you feel loose and relaxed.

 
   
 

Lower Body Program

 
     

This session begins with legs, abs and back. Then moves to hips
and butt, progresses to shoulders/arms and finishes with legs, hips and butt. A great Workout for Killer Abs.

 
   

Upper Body Program

 
   

Target your abs, back shoulders, chest, biceps and triceps with a series
of routines that challenge upper body strength and endurance.

 
   

Interval training

 
   

A combination of fast paced movement with strength building exercises. This class keeps the heart-rate up while demanding indurance. You will sweat your way through sequences which are organized to maintain the challenge!

 
   

Cardio Pilates

 
   

Definitely the hardest session you can take. This 1 1/2 hour session keeps the heart rate up while demanding strength. You will sweat your way through sequences which are organized to maintain the challenge! Must be advanced and comfortable with Pilates II classes. Postpartum Massage – Postpartum Massage is designed to help restore the new mother’s body to the pre-pregnancy state, to tone the overstretched abdominal skin, and to help revive the mother’s emotional state. The new mom needs and deserves to be pampered, and our Postpartum Massage Treatment is the right choice. Postpartum Massages are usually given from when the doctor says okay until six to nine months after the birth.
