Celebrate the miracle of childbirth! Come and experience a Yoga class as an excellent way to maintain a strong and centered mind and body during the joys and challenges of pregnancy, labor and motherhood. Practicing Yoga in pregnancy helps mom to bond with her baby, helps to strengthen and stretch muscles, release tension and maintain good posture. Prenatal yoga also teaches you to relax on command and keep a positive outlook while clearing the mind of the stresses associated with pregnancy and life with your new baby.

In our classes we teach Yoga & Pilates exercises that help prepare you for labor, delivery and motherhood as well as breathing techniques you can use in labor. Come and connect with yourself, your baby and other moms as you embark on this exciting journey. (A doctor's note/permission is required) 

 

This class is open to Post-natal mommies who would like to continue to stretch and strengthen gently to stay healthy and relaxed after the new baby.

What is Delicious Yoga with Faye Rose?

 

Let Faye's soothing voice and expert guidance transport you to a deeply satisfying and delicious experience that you will want to return to again and again. Help to heal yourself with this class. Faye is a master teacher, providing clear and easy-to-follow direction, regardless of your level of experience. Her skillful teaching is backed by multiple Yoga certifications, including Yoga for Fibromyalgia, MS, Parkinson's, Back issues, Pre & postnatal, Cancer, and many more certifications in Pilates, Body Rolling, and Ballet Barre. This delicious one-hour yoga flow incorporates breathing exercises to focus and energize; six movements of the spine and core strengthening to warm and invigorate; and a full range of yoga poses to release and revitalize the entire body. Ending with a blissful extended relaxation, including an optional mini-massage. Chairs may be used for extra support, it's up to you.

Mommy & Baby Yoga & Pilates

Mom & Baby Yoga offers quality time with your body and your baby! Re-balance your body and rejuvenate your energy while enjoying time with your baby and building social connections with other new moms. Babies are gently and safely incorporated into the class as observers or active participants using soothing massage, yoga poses and songs, movements and stretches to engage and delight.

Enhance your sense of body awareness and positive body image, improve balance, strengthen muscles and reduce stress and fatigue.

This class is open to moms four weeks post-vaginal birth, six weeks post-cesarean birth, and to babies who are not actively crawling. A doctor's release to exercise is required.
Nursing, feeding, walking, bouncing and soothing fussy babies are perfectly normal activities here.

Enjoy the camaraderie and connection with other new moms and babies.

Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a yoga mat, a water bottle for yourself and a blanket and a few soft toys for your child. You may want to bring an extra yoga mat for your baby too as the studio has hardwood floors.

"Art and Soul has changed my life! In Jan of 2015 I had gastric bypass surgery and when my doctor suggested I start exercising, I discovered Faye and am now a fully committed devotee! I was not deterred that most people who looked to be doing pilates were far more fit than me, and Faye has been my biggest cheerleader and supporter. I explained my history to her and she helped me adjust the moves to my ability level and has worked with me along the way and now I am fully capable!!! 

I am devoted to the Pilates Reformer class and have also taken the Yoga classes and they are all DELICIOUS!!! "I had been having severe muscle spasms in my chest, abdomen and lower back for some time, with increasing severity.  The Neurologist/Chiropractor prescribed exercises actually caused more spasms.  In an effort to avoid the next treatment, injecting my muscles with lidocaine, I decided to look into yoga.  I found Faye Rose and went to see her.  She taught me yoga breathing ad some yoga stretches.  Faye also recommended a nutritional cleansing diet and massage by Wendy, also at the studio.  With yoga breathing I immediately had some control over the spasms.  Within five weeks of private yoga lessons, diet and massage, I had had my last spasm.  16 months later I remain spasm free.  Thanks Faye!"--Bill M

 

 

 "I wanted to tell you what a wonderful job Kathy did on last Monday. She was amazing. She pushed me with a challenging workout but still one that was within my skill set. My heartbeat was up for the majority of the class which made me feel that I not only got a good workout and burned some calories, but that I really focused on the routine and more importantly on me. The savasana was so relaxing and rejuvenation. When I went home I felt like I could do anything. I took my daughter ice skating later that day (I've never been), I felt like I could get on the ice and do spins and jumps. The reality was that I couldn't, but I thought I could because of how good I felt! I did fall only one time, so I think all the balancing poses helped with the ice skating.
